At certain point of life, many of us start acknowledging this realm of life and get going with the same job in private sector.Every year, different civil service examinations is conducted. Of all these exams, some are held at state level whereas some at national level. In state level service exams, MPSC exam is one of the premier civil services exams in India. MPSC stands for Maharashtra Public Service Commission. Formed by the Constitution of India, MPSC is a body that selects candidates for civil service jobs in the State of Maharashtra. Every year, the Government of Maharashtra conducts MPSC exam through which it selects eligible candidates for jobs under its various departments like Administration, Police, Forest and Engineering.
This exam is conducted for recruitment of sales tax inspector and assistant in Maharashtra sales tax department.
19-33 years-(relaxations as per Government rules).
This exam is conducted for recruitment of Police Sub Inspectors for the state's police force.
19-28 years- MPSC PSI Preliminary Examination(relaxations as per government rules).

This exam is conducted for recruitment of clerk and typists (English and Marathi) for various departments of the Government of Maharashtra.

Those wishing to apply for MPSC 2014 can do so either online or offline . If a candidate is interested in the former mode, then he/she has to download the application form from the official website. Online application includes two stages i.e. a) registration 1 b) registration 2.
After submission of personal details, you will be asked to print the SBI bank challan on A4 size paper. The printed pay slip is needed for the further stage of online application. The application fee for candidates is Rs 400 in case of general category candidates and Rs 200 in case of reserved category candidates.
In offline mode, Students can get the application form from any of the specified post offices across the state of Maharashtra. The cost of the application form in offline mode is Rs.100. Next, students have to fill the form, complete and send it to the mentioned address in the notification before the last date of form submission.
The preliminary exam consists of four papers i.e. General Knowledge, General English, General Marathi and General Studies.
Candidates who pass the prelim exam qualify for the main exam. In main exam, there will be six papers; two languages papers (English & Marathi) and four papers in General Studies.

There will be two languages papers of 100 marks each and the structure of the papers will of descriptive type. The remaining four papers will have multiple choice questions, 150 marks each. For two incorrect answers, 1 mark will get deducted.
